It’s not like Tinder where you have to pay to date.

New York Fashion Week comes twice a year which means twice the fun, twice the parties, and twice the clothes, but getting a ticket into this magical world of fashion isn’t for everyone. It’s not like Tinder where you have to pay to date, but you do have to pay a big price to grab a seat at one of these shows. Even your favorite celebrities have to request their spot and wait in line.
In order to get seats you need to be contacted by the PR team running the designer’s fashion show. In this case, let’s say SKINGRAFT is being run by People’s Revolution and you want a seat to the show. Well what’s your relation to the designer? Tickets can trickle down to local schools in the area in New York where you may be able to attend but most likely those tickets won’t be for a SKINGRAFT or a Calvin Klein show, that’s for sure! Sorry to get your hopes up. They may be for someone else’s show. Now how do tickets trickle down to the so called bloggers and writers and all the fashion lovers that aren’t Peter Davis or Ann Wintour? Well they trickle down through shows that won’t see a high social class of A-List only and if that is the case, they may land in the hands of friends and other fashion lovers who happen to be around or attendee from previous seasons.
When you manage to get a ticket (that’s if you do) you’ll able to attend one of the greatest events in the world. Fashion Week in New York City. For the past couple seasons they all were held at Lincoln Center in New York, now that will no longer be as Lincoln Center and Mercedes-Benz are not working together with New York Fashion Week. Location area is different and currently pending, talks are around that it may be in the same area as MILK Studios. So things will be different.
But in the past, it went a little like this. If you were invited or requested to see a show and approved, you were sent an invitation through email with a bar code to gain access. The day of the show you would have to walk up the stairs to the front doors where six tall men in suits would be (stopping you), show them your invitation FOR THE CURRENT SHOW either from your phone or printed and they’ll let you in. Once you walk in the past the guards you will walk past a lineup of bar scanners that will be on your left hand side awaiting you. Either scan your invitation bar code or type the pin number from your invitation to get your actual ticket and get in. If so, you’re able to proceed to the lobby where all the fun is, if not, you are welcome to a new line where your current designer PR Company will have to personally check you invitation by computer.  Most likely you still are in. Getting your ticket overall is tricky, so when you have one remember that you earned it and you didn’t have to swipe yes for a lucky match.

*Even though you are on the list, a celebrity who request or confirms later will still take your spot any day
