Party In New York
Music isn’t just something to move to or listen to, it’s
art and means something different to everyone. It can give you that comfort
feeling that makes everything feel good and makes all the pain go away, it can
be that pumped up music you’re listen to right before the start of your big
sport game, it can even give you that relax feel while walking down the runway
during New York Fashion Week. Well whatever it is, it turns us on in a
completely different way and makes us feel completely fine.
When the radio turns on and you hear
your favorite tunes you can always find you or your friends jamming out in the
car, usually it’s the red light stop that you go crazy. (At this moment it’s
usually the awkward stare you receive from your next car driver). One of the
best times to listen to music is at the clubs, this is where you can get the
real party feel for what is playing. Just ask one of New York Cities best DJ
groups, The Misshapes.
If you ever want a real party in New York, head over to a
club where The Misshapes are DJing at, Leigh Lezark, Geordon Nicol, and Greg
Krelenstein. I met Leigh at Costello Tagliapietra Fall/Winter 2014 this past
February right before the show, although we didn’t get a chance to talk much we
did say hello to each other. Being a DJ in New York is pretty cool, Leigh met
both Geordon and Greg at college and that’s when they formed The Misshapes. They
began to perform at many venues in New York City and to this day are well known
as one of New York’s best. I’m sure they played these lyrics before? Maybe not?
“If
you want we'll help tonight to split its seams. Give the bruises out like
gifts. You'll get the picture of your dreams. I won't be smiling but the notes
from my admirers fill the dashboard just the same.”
Yeah, from Lorde, maybe they have, maybe they haven’t but
either way they are playing today’s best music all over the city and more, be
sure to check them out!
Thanks for reading everyone
